Range of compounds and masterbatches for the cosmetics industry

Addiplast Group is a major supplier to cosmetics industry, with a wide range of compound solutions for luxury sector and an unlimited range of color masterbatches for the entire sector: mass tinted materials, high densities, ceramic effect, marbled, cold touch, Black Piano.
Our materials can be finished in several ways such as galvanization, vacuum metallization, lacquering and varnishing without forgetting color masterbatches.

The group's research and development center ADDISCIENCE® also focus on the formulation of solutions using recycled materials and bio sourced products. These materials are available under our Addibio Renew® brand.

A range of PP (Polypropylene) and ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) has been specially developed to be vacuum-metallized.  

The objective is to ensure a perfect surface quality without any defects.  

The materials offered for vacuum metallization are also available with high densities (densities of 1.2 to 2.5) to add perceived quality through weight and decoration. These densities are obtained only with mineral fillers.

Polypropylenes and polyamides cannot be chrome-plated without chemical additives. A range of products have been specially formulated to obtain a resistant chrome plating with a perfect surface quality.  

The objective is to achieve a galvanization as efficient as ABS but to keep the physical and chemical properties (excellent juice resistance in perfumery) and intrinsic mechanical properties of PP and PA.  

One of the advantages of using PP is its excellent chemical and mechanical properties (no stress cracking generated by alcohols…) and its recyclability.

Low shrinkage PP

We have developed low-shrinkage PPs remarkably close to an ABS matrix. These grades are particularly well suited to vacuum metallization treatment. One of the advantages of using PP is its excellent chemical resistance and mechanical properties (no stress cracking due to perfume alcohols…) and its recyclability. These materials are compliant with California’s Proposition 65 which lists more than 800 chemical substances that are known to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity by health authorities.

Alternative to Polyacetal (POM) 

As an alternative to POM, we offer material solutions with optimized static and dynamic coefficients of friction, improved wear factors on a PBT, PP and POK basis, which guarantee flexibility and resistance in sliding functions (mascara stems, lipstick tube inserts) and spring functions (pump mechanisms, spray caps).

Materials from recycled sources

ADDIPLAST GROUP is committed to supporting its customers in an eco-design approach with its range of compounds based on recycled PP:  

  • Post Consumer Recycled (PCR)
  • Post Industrial Recycled (PIR)
  • FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) NOL (No Objection Letter)  
  • Chemical recycling  

These recycled raw materials are rigorously selected for their quality and the sustainability of the deposits and are subject to strict internal approvals to meet aesthetic or mechanical applications.

Biobased materials

Sourcing natural materials is more and more required by the cosmetics market.  

Always with the aim of reducing the proportion of fossil-based plastics, the ADDIPLAST group offers ready-to-use solutions to obtain a visible natural fiber effect, matt effects, pastel shades based on wood, flax, miscanthus, cellulose, oyster shells, etc.  

References suitable for food contact are available for primary packaging.  

We also develop compounds using materials from renewable resources suitable for composting and recycling.

The group continues its actions in terms of sustainable development by offering alternatives to carbon black (Near InfraRed – NIR compatible) and TiO₂.   

Addicolor production site has the expertise and dedicated equipment, including a crystallization line for the transformation of PET, RPET materials, and offers a wide range of products for the food and cosmetics industry in the form of masterbatches or compoundscrystallized or not.  

PET is easily recyclable in RPET and it is the ideal responsible packaging material allowing to create a virtuous circle. Keeping its original characteristics after recycling: transparency, shock and moisture resistance, and thermoformable, this material is suitable for food and non-food applications.  

Addicolor production site is also able to transform (co-)polyester matrices, PET-G.
