Spotlight on our high-performance compound 🔬

Today, ADDIPLAST GROUP is highlighting one of its compounds, Addinyl® PA66 GF50, developed to meet the requirements of technical applications subject to high mechanical stresses.

Thanks to its advanced properties, this material can be used in many areas requiring:

💪 High mechanical strength
🌡️ Thermal stability : resistance to low temperatures
📏 Dimensional stability
⏳ Durability over time
🎨 Aesthetic quality of the final parts
⚙️ A lightweight and economical alternative to metal

It is therefore an ideal solution for technical components such as fastening or assembly systems: in sports equipment (e.g., ski ⛷️ or snowboard 🏂 bindings), but also in any other application where performance and reliability are essential.

In a context where France continues to distinguish itself on the international winter sports scene with numerous medals in biathlon and snowboarding, innovation in materials contributes directly to the performance of tomorrow’s equipment.

Addinyl® PA66 GF50 is the perfect balance to support manufacturers with material solutions that combine performance, design, and technical requirements.

🔧 The right material, for the right use, for the right performance.

Green Friday Addiplast Group 👓

🌍 Addiplast Group launched its Green Friday with a collection of unused glasses! ♻️

On Friday, November 29, Addiplast Group kicked off its Green Friday by organizing a large collection of unused glasses💥🌎

As part of our CSR approach, we are partnering with @Harmonie Mutuelle and @Écouter Voir to participate in a national collection campaign. The goal? To give glasses a second life by donating them to ESAT Handicap & Réinsertion, which will sort, recycle, and recondition them.  👏

A collection bin has been installed at our three production sites: Addiplast, Addikem & Addicolor. The campaign ran until December 20! 🌱

👓Results of the initiative: Thanks to the involvement of our teams, we collected more than 50 pairs of unused glasses! They will soon be recycled by ESAT, which will give them a new purpose, in a spirit of solidarity and environmental responsibility.

We would like to warmly thank all participants for their involvement!

Together, we are making a difference 🙌

Interview with Vilia Soeun – Work-Study Student in the Europlastics & Composites BTS Program

Hello Vilia, could you please introduce yourself?

Hello, my name is Vilia SOEUN, I am 25 years old and I recently graduated with a BTS Europlastics & Composites.I completed my work-study program at Addikem, the Addiplast group’s production site, which manufactures compounds and masterbatches using BUSS Co-mixer technology. Before this BTS, I had already been working at the company for a year. I wanted to resume my studies, so the company offered me the option of completing this BTS on a work-study basis, which I accepted.

Can you explain what the BTS Europlastics & Composites program involves?

The BTS program trains future senior technicians in the field of plastics processing. We study the different processing techniques, the different materials available on the market, etc.

Why did you choose to pursue a career in plastics engineering?

I decided to pursue a career in plastics engineering because the industry is very prominent in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region. It’s a sought-after sector with many opportunities! In fact, it offers some great job prospects.

Can you tell us about your work-study experience? What were your duties and responsibilities?

Of course. In my opinion, work-study programs are the best way to learn a trade! They allow you to develop skills and gain experience in the field at the same time. At Addikem, I help operators with filling and bagging. I assist my shift manager in overseeing production and support the OF coordinator in entering the quantities of materials consumed for each production run via our ERP software.

What specific projects did you complete during your work-study program?

This year, I was entrusted with a major project for the Addikem site! I had to oversee the entire industrialization process for a new compound for a food application.

What are your future career plans?

I would very much like to stay at Addikem. I am currently expanding my knowledge of production management, and I intend to advance within the company!

Would you recommend ADDIPLAST GROUP for a work-study program in BTS Europlastics & Composites?

Yes, absolutely. It’s easy to fit in and feel at home here. The teams are all very welcoming, and there’s a strong spirit of teamwork and mutual support in the workplace.

Thank you for taking part in our interview!

Interview with Benjamin Faure, a work-study student in R&D

Hello Benjamin, can you introduce yourself?

Hello, my name is Benjamin Faure and I have been working as a work-study student in the R&D department at Addiscience® since September 7, 2023, for a period of one year.

I am in my final year of a Master’s degree in Chemistry and Materials Science, specializing in Plastics Technology, in Saint-Etienne.

Before joining Addiscience® as a work-study student, I first did a 5-month internship during my first year of my Master’s degree (also at Addiscience®), which allowed me to start the work I am doing today.

Thank you. What made you decide to apply to ADDIPLAST GROUP?

I wanted to explore the Research & Development department within a medium-sized industrial company like ADDIPLAST GROUP, as I had already had the opportunity to work in the public sector.

Can you describe your main role within the Addiscience® R&D department?

Of course. I was recruited by Guillaume Alès, Addiscience®’s R&D manager, to oversee and manage the SABRES (Système durABle extéRieur connectES) collaborative project.

The project is led by a major client from the automotive industry. In partnership with a new start-up, an SME, a university laboratory, and ADDIPLAST GROUP, the client wants to develop and integrate a new technology aimed at making vehicles autonomous.

This project has several areas of development. The first is the development of this new technology. The second is its integration into body parts. Finally, the last is to develop innovative compounds with low environmental impact with a view to producing body parts, but also various exterior automotive parts. It is in this last area that Addiscience® is involved in various sub-projects covering a range of applications such as tailgate boxes, bumpers, etc. To this end, we are working on the integration of polymers and recycled fillers as well as natural fibers.

What are your day-to-day operational tasks?

My day-to-day tasks are rich and varied and similar to those of an engineer and formulation expert. I formulate, analyze, and interpret the results in order to provide my supervisor Guillaume with accurate and concise conclusions in my research reports. I present and discuss the results with the R&D team in order to identify new formulation avenues.

I also attend important meetings with all stakeholders in collaborative projects.

What are you learning on a daily basis from your work-study program?

Being a work-study student in R&D allows me to learn new things about the professional world every day. I am learning to manage the organizational constraints of a project schedule, delivery issues, and non-compliance issues. I am also learning to be proactive and independent.

At the end of your work-study program, do you want to continue your studies?

Yes, I would like to do a CIFRE thesis in partnership with an industrial company afterwards. However, I am still open to joining a company at the end of the program.

Women in the Plastics Industry

Last June, an assessment was carried out on an initiative led by companies in the plastics industry in Haute-Loire, with the aim of promoting the attractiveness of careers in plastics manufacturing for women, in partnership with the DDETSPP (Departmental Directorate for Employment, Labor, Social Affairs, and Professional Training).

This initiative was launched following a survey of plastics companies affected by the obligation to publish their professional equality index and facing recruitment difficulties.

Plastics manufacturing is one of the sectors identified in the plan to combat recruitment pressures.
The Human Resources Consulting Service was mobilized, financed by the State, and supported by OPCO2i AURA in partnership with the Polyvia branch.

ADDIPLAST GROUP and four other companies participated in this project. We benefited from a combination of group sessions and individual workshops led by the firm QANTIS.co.

The working group’s objectives are to improve the attractiveness and diversity of the plastics industry, in particular by identifying obstacles and dismantling preconceived notions about our professions.

Ambassadors for the plastics industry were identified in each company and shared their experiences in a video presenting 10 profiles of different women and professions, highlighting diversity in plastics companies in the Haute-Loire region.

We would like to thank Leslie CHEVALIER, laboratory technician, who volunteered to participate in the video and act as an ambassador for our group.

Click on the video « Le visage des femmes dans la plasturgie » to discover the diversity of our professions!
